Claiming a registered AVATAR.

If you find that an AVATAR has been registered that you have a legitimate claim to (i.e. registered trademark, company name or in some cases, a personal name), we have a process for you to submit a claim.

All claims cost 5x the current price of registering a new AVATAR. This price is non-refundable.

How do I make a claim?

To claim an AVATAR, you will need to provide us with relative information that supports your claim. When we receive your claim, we will do an initial investigation. If we feel that you have a legitimate claim, we will reach out to the current AVATAR owner, asking them for information relating to your claim.

What happens if someone makes a claim against my AVATAR?

If a claim is made for an AVATAR you own, we will reach out to you via AVATAR Messaging to advise you that a claim has been made and we are looking into it. You do not need to do anything at this stage; we will do initial investigations and get back to you if we require proof from you that you have a legitimate claim to the AVATAR name.

In the case of a personal name claim, you need to provide evidence that you have a relationship with that name. For example, we may ask for an ID.

If we find the claim against the AVATAR in question is legitimate, we will reach out to you to discuss resolution options.

Full details of the claim process are still being finalised. We will update this page with the details when ready.
